Writing is a difficult business and not an easy past time, but your kind words and even the simple “woot-woot” you sent me, made things a lot easier. After a long, tiring, wonderful, and exciting European vacation I am finally home! Yes, I am back and ready to spend long hours of writing again. At present I am working on what I hope to be my third and fourth novella: Where my heart is and His Wicked Ways. My second novella, The Wicked Proposal, is sold to and is coming soon from eXtasy Books. The story is somewhat connected to To Trust a Wicked Man but a standalone. :) Here is the short unedited synopsis.
A woman with a broken heart. A man with strong will to make her his. Together their passion is strong enough to keep their bodies warm and love survives.
Hurting from Edward’s reason for breaking their engagement that she’s boring and changing—widthwise, Madeline reveals her feelings to her friend’s brother, Wolf O’Connor. He says Edward is a fool and insists that she’s beautiful and attractive. Madeline cannot believe that a man known for his reputation of dating women that fits the description of skinny ramp models finds her attractive. To know if he’s telling the truth, she challenges him to make love with her. What happens next is the best thing that ever happens to her. Wolf makes love with her as if she’s ambrosia, holds her as if she’s delicate porcelain, and gives her pleasure she never thinks possible. Madeline thinks that night will never happen again especially when Wolf sails away and is gone for a week. But she’s wrong. Wolf shows up at the Senior Center auction night with his friends and bids the highest to win at the auction. The prize: a day with her.
Wanting to prove that she’s not boring, Madeline agrees when Wolf suggests that they pretend to go out as lovers. He explains that it’s the only way to soften the blow of the gossip about Edward dumping her. By going out with him, people might think that it’s her who dumped Edward and not the other way around. After a few weeks of pretending to be Wolf’s girlfriend, she learns that the famous captain isn’t only spectacular in pleasing a woman, but also a romantic at heart. Despite her recent heart-breaking broken engagement, she finds herself in love with Wolf. Her feelings are answered when Wolf goes down on his knees professing his love and offering a promise ring. Believing that he truly loves her, she accepts his ring. But when Edward came back she learned something about Wolf that made her doubt him. Is Edward telling the truth or he’s only trying to hurt Madeline, again, for spreading the gossip that she dumped him?

My fifth grader wrote a cute love story for school which I believe has potential. While in Italy, we planned to work on the story together. Because of this my slowly growing interest in writing YA is now a full blown plan. I’ll keep you posted on both.

"Why do you write what you write?"
“Why do you write what you write?” A friend who couldn’t understand why I write sensual/erotic romance stories asked me this question. The first thing that came to my mind was to tell her that I love writing. But then, I realized that wasn’t just it. Writers all like to write. But why? We don’t all write the same stories. Genre, was what it’s called. But what made us pick a particular genre?
Here’s what I told her: I’m addicted to the feeling of falling in love. When I write I am often high with it. My characters aren’t just beautiful or suffering from conflicts, they’re always—if you read my book/s—falling in love with each other. That’s the part that gets me going, what keeps me awake till morning, what motivates me to write another and think of another story. So I can get high again. There is nothing more addicting than falling in love. And yes, I write what I write because I am an addict. Happy Valentine’s Day.
